Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise launches 'Purple' communications platform

Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise is going for a touch of ‘purple’ this month as the company launches its new communications platform for businesses.

Alcatel-Lucent's SIP-based OmniPCX Enterprise Purple is designed to provide communications for the digital workplace, including employees and customers. 

The platform integrates real-time communications into businesses applications and processes. It is also designed for cloud connectivity, providing flexibility for hybrid work environments. This cloud connectivity supports cloud-based collaboration platforms, such as Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise’s Rainbow platform.

The platform also comes with a range of desk phones for hybrid workplaces and also provides an omnichannel experience based on an upcoming hybrid cloud CCaaS solution.

According to the company, real-time communication can reduce latency with intelligent objects, improve business efficiency, and increase customer satisfaction.

Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Communication Business Division EVP Nicolas Brunel says that the platform aims to assist organisations that want to embrace the digital age.

By providing an open platform designed for the new workplace and integration of real-time communications into their core business processes, they can fully leverage the power of cloud.”

The platform is available through the company's global network of resellers.

The launch also supports the company’s Digital Age Communications (DAC) strategy, which has three pillars: The digital workplace, communications as the catalyst for enterprise agility, and flexible cloud-model solutions and architecture.

  • "The digital workplace: Enabling employees to work from anywhere (at the office, at home or remotely), with efficient communications, collaboration, and customer service, cloud-based solutions available at any time, from any device.
  • Communications as the catalyst for enterprise agility: Connecting everything (people, applications, and objects) to enrich traditional business interactions, accelerate decision-making, automate business processes and proactively detect potential incidents before they occur.
  • Flexible cloud-model solutions and architecture: From enterprise premises to a full cloud solution (private, public or hybrid), organisations can decide on the best approach to support their transformation in terms of budget, timeframe, and objectives.”

Earlier this year the company appointed Maud Holvast as its Australia and New Zealand country business leader. She is responsible for delivering top-line and transformational objectives.
